NACOGDOCHES UNDER THREAT: DATA CENTERS ARE FOLLOWING SOLAR

Industrial solar and BESS are entry points for massive data centers. This scheme exploits Nacogdoches County land, bypassing the grid to feed elite tech hubs while our rural Piney Woods heritage is erased.

Solar and BESS Sites are the Industrial Bait

Utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are the Trojan Horse for heavy industrialization in Nacogdoches County. By securing connections under the 'green' banner, developers build the infrastructure needed to power massive data centers later. This predatory build-out targets our quiet East Texas timberlands to avoid oversight and seize power for distant urban tech hubs, leaving our local power grid vulnerable and our community behind.

These industrial sites serve as magnets for nameless tech giants, transforming our forest ecosystems into concrete corridors before residents notice the energy is being sent away to out-of-town data centers.

Data Centers Will Drain Nacogdoches County Dry

MASSIVE WATER DRAINS

  • Just one industrial data center can suck 5 million gallons of water every day for cooling. This extreme usage dwarfs the water needs of every household and poultry farm in our entire district.

VANISHING GROUNDWATER

  • Massive cooling systems compete directly against local family wells and the Carrizo-Wilcox aquifer. Rapid depletion will kill our agricultural economy and leave Nacogdoches County home owners with dry wells.

ECOSYSTEM DESTRUCTION

The sheer scale of this industrial invasion will forever clear-cut the Piney Woods and exhaust our aquifers. Once our groundwater is depleted to cool servers for big tech, our way of life will never recover.
ALARMING EVIDENCE

THE BAIT IS SET: PROTECT OUR WATER

Cartoon of Mr. Burns gleefully throwing money

Developers have already signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to sell electricity from Texas sites to undisclosed tech corporations. This proof confirms that solar is merely the bait for water-guzzling data centers. Nacogdoches County is currently the ground zero for this industrial exploitation, putting our local wells, our pine forests, and our diverse East Texas wildlife at immediate and irreversible risk of extinction.

DEFEND OUR HOME LAND

STOP THE INDUSTRIAL BAIT • PROTECT OUR WELLS • DEFEND THE PINEY WOODS • STOP LAND DEVALUATION

The raid on Nacogdoches County has begun. Our groundwater, our farms, and the Piney Woods ecosystem are the targets of industrial greed. We must join together now to stop these data centers before our wells run dry.
